Ataxia Awareness Society (AAS)organized a Foundation Day Celebration in collaboration with ICSR and IPS Academy, Indore. The event was organized to provide in depth knowledge about Ataxia to all concerned persons.
The event initiated with the Welcome Speech which was given by Ms. Swasti Wagh (President of AAS). Afterwards, the event was followed by Saraswati Vandna by lighting the lamp ceremony which was done by the Chief Guest.
Ataxia Awareness Society gave the short introduction of all the chief Guests present there that is Dr. Anil Bhandari. (Founder of NGO ‘(Sahayata’),Dr, Vivek Singh Kushwaha, (Director. Institute of Business Management & Research, IPS),Shri Vikram Agnihotri, (Limca Book of Records 2018 Record Holder),and Dr, Approva Pauranik. (Neurologist & Patron of AAS).They were honored and felicitated by floral welcome, by Mrs. Jagruti Upasani (Volunteer).
Introduction of Ataxia Awareness Society through power point presentation to all the audience, byShri Narendra Edlabadkar & Mr.Rahul Mimrot (Volunteers). Mrs. TapatiRoy Yadav (Volunteer) provided all the necessary details related to AAS website that is www.ataxiaindia.com and also explained how to use the website.
The programme followed by the speeches of Chief Guest that is Dr. Anil Bhandari who is the founder of a successful NGO ‘Sahayata’ shared his experiences of having the NGO make a run through. Dr, VivekSingh Kushwaha in his speech focused on the areas of sustainable development of disabled friendly society. Shri Vikram Agnihotri delivered a motivational speechand shared his own experience that how one can face the challenges in spite of physical disabilities. Dr, Approva Pauranik gave suggestions for improving the quality life of ataxia patients & their caretakers. He also expressed their views on how to overcome with the sufferings of this disability. He summarized activities of AAS carried out in year 2018-19 and explained usefulness of these activities for ataxia patients. Then, the open session was organized in which all patients and audiences are invited to give their feedback and suggestions. AAS donated wheelchairs to handicapped ataxia patient, and distributed DNA test reports (from CSIR, IGIB Institute of Genomics and Interrogative Biology, New Delhi) Some great performances were presented before the audience that made the programme delightful. A splendid display of kathak (dance) by Ms. Natasha (dance) (student), wonderful dance by Ms. Nupur (student), melodious songs by Mrs. Neerja Pauranik, Mrs. Alka Saxena, Mrs. Sudha Wagh and Shri Rishabh Jain. Poem narration by Ms. Esha Mittal, (Ataxia Sufferer),and a stand by comedy of Shri Subrat (student of IPS), was also amazing.An obliged vote of thanks was proposed by AAS to doctors and dignitaries, towards their devoted time and efforts for the welfare of programme and patients.
The Program ended with Vote of thanks which was delivered by Mrs. Tapati Roy Yadav.
The programme concluded after serving tea and refreshments to all the volunteers, patients and invited guests.
